When you’ve grown up in a positive environment with some challenges, thriving in a pandemic is possible because you’re resilient and have the right mindset to make it a good experience.
Here are 25+ suggested things I’ve been doing this year to thrive in the pandemic:
- Journal daily: write what you are grateful for, poems, songs, letters to family and friends, draw pictures
- Play music, sing, and dance. I dance in the kitchen every day! It feels so good!
- Start a new remote business. I started my blog this year!
- Get healthy and in shape. I’ve lost some pounds so far with Noom, the healthy weight loss app!
- Be silly and laugh with family and friends. My sister, Linny, and I do all of the time!
- Start a new relationship with an old friend. This has been such an incredibly wonderful surprise!
- Do puzzles, play cards, and games
- Make plans to celebrate both the big and small things in life (losing a pound, a birthday)
- Light-scented candles for no reason at all and all the time. It’s festive!
- Wear sexy underwear or anything that makes you feel good like your comfy sweatshirt and favorite jeans!
- Pamper yourself: get massages, manicures/pedicures, facials, or a new do.
- Try new things: songwriting and Noom. I wrote the lyrics to a song, Hugs & Hope!
- Play an instrument. I have been playing the piano, guitar, and harmonica lately!
- Stay connected: by calling someone you’ve been thinking of, checking on loved ones, group texting, Zoom yoga, meeting for walks, eating lunch outside with a friend, and sitting around a fire to catch up
- Exercise: walk outside, Zoom yoga, swim, bike, dance, meditate, jump rope, or whatever suits your fancy!
- Eat healthy splurging on occasion, of course!
- Get enough sleep so that you have sweet dreams!
- Try a new recipe: make your favorite ice cream, banana bread, or dinner for a friend
- Be innovative and creative in your thinking.
- Take risks. You will be so glad you did! I called this guy and we ended up on a date that night.
- Learn from your mistakes. I’ve learned so much by starting this blog!
- Read a few good books. I’ve got a stack of 7 on my dresser. I just finished Secrets of a Strong Mind!
- Plan your day leaving room for surprises and flexibility
- Be in the moment
- Snuggle under a soft blanket or with your hottie!
- Listen carefully. You will learn so much!
- Surround yourself with good people!
- Choose abundance over fear every day!
